Focused workshop: Artbots 30 May 10 -- PNCA ($35)

In this workshop we will be taking our dorkboards and using them to create a simple machine that draws. The focus will be on hands on problem solving.

What you will get.

  • A servo and a geared motor with paper feed.
  • A motor driver board.
  • Misc parts.

What to bring:

  • A dorkboard, teensy or other arduino capable board.
  • A soldering iron.

Servo Controllers?

Does anyone have a CAD layout or part numbers for a diy servo controller with at least a 16 channel input(or potentially a site with cheaper but good components)? I have been looking for a little while and have found a few controllers with the necessary channels in but they are a little expensive. Thanks for any help you can give.

PCB WooHoo!

Heh, Of course, I just noticed that I put some text on the wrong layer. Oh well. I'm looking forward to this VERY much. :)

Micro SD

What I've been working on lately....

Buy 5 get 25% off Radioshack parts drawers

Just got 3 of the RFID readers and picked up 2 more $1.00 items to get 25% off total purchase! Not good on other electronics stuff...just component drawers...

Parallax RFID Reader Modules $10

Howdy y'all!

Terribly sorry to have missed the recent Cult Induction! Will be at the next one. And now it's time for something you'll really like: Portland area RadioShacks are discontinuing their stock of Parallax RFID Reader Modules (http://bit.ly/apo2hl) and are selling them off at $10 a pop (normally $50)!

Thanks to Paul!

/* He whipped up this nifty little display driver code for my 5x7 LED Matrix so I could make blinky things!

int row[7] = {10,13,9,6,2,8,3};

int col[5] = {12,4,5,11,7};

int pixels[7][5];

int i = 0;
//Paul whipped this up in like 10 minutes off the top of his head(worked perfect 1st time too) THANKS!
unsigned char display_data[5];

void write_7_pins(unsigned char c)
{
c ^= 255;
digitalWrite(10, (c & 1));
digitalWrite(13, (c & 2));

Robots are expensive.

Howdy! I'm on a Robogames robotics team named Wonderblend. Basically, my friend and I are just two fairly ambitious, broke highschoolers. For fundraising we need to get as many people as possible interested in what we are doing, and that's what I'm doing right now. What better place for that than here, amongst the people doing strange things with electricity? Here's the Kickstarter link if you want to help us out: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wonderblend/wonderblend-a-combat-robot-made-by-highschoolers

Thanks!
